The Bronston Scholars Club and Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

Bere-Mont Nigeria Limited, owners of Charles Dale Memorial International School and Bereton School are in collaboration with Bronston Canadian Academy, Ontario, Canada. Hence, as part of our broad-based curriculum, our students are exposed to teachings and assessments on Bronston Courses accredited by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, Canada, and leading to the acquisition of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) certificate while still in school at a reduced cost.

The Bronston Scholars Club is a membership programme offered to students to allow them access all Bronston courses and programs through a learning management system. Membership of the club begins from Year 12. Students in this scholars’ club access the Bronston Canadian Academy lessons, tutorials, practice quizzes and exams, towards the accomplishment of the following:

ü Exposure and understanding of the Canadian curriculum

ü Improved knowledge base in English, Mathematics, Science and other subjects

ü Improved skills towards the writing of other national exams outside Canada

ü Ability to obtain the OSSD upon graduation from Charles Dale International School.

Our students, therefore, do not only obtain the WASSCE and Cambridge IGCSE during their study period in Charles Dale Memorial International School. They also get the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) which qualifies them for immediate admission into universities in Canada and other study locations abroad. The OSSD is a prerequisite for entry into most colleges and universities abroad because it is designed to prepare students for post-secondary education by offering a wide range of academic and elective courses.

BENEFITSOF ENROLLING FOR OSSD AT CHARLES DALE MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

ü It reduces the financial burden parents encounter in applying and sending their children to Canada to first obtain the secondary school diploma before they are admitted into universities.

ü Average cost of study for the OSSD in Canada is $24,000 – $30,000 in one year (excluding travel expenses and pocket money).

ü Students obtain the OSSD certificate during the senior secondary years. No additional year or time is spent.

ü The students will also have the Ontario Education Number (OEN) issued by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, Canada. With this, they are recognized as Canadian students, having the same status as those studying in Canada.

ü OSSD is acceptable for admission into any university of choice in Canada, USA and the United Kingdom.

ü There are scholarship opportunities for eligible students.

ü It aids the students during their Visa application and gives them an edge above their fellows.
